Deidre Brown

Head of the Auckland School of Architecture and Planning

Deidre is a professor and the Head of the School of Architecture and Planning at the University of Auckland, where she has worked for the last 15 years, teaching New Zealand, Oceanic and Indigenous architecture and studio design. She believes that the stories, ecologies and topography of the land, waterways and ocean are important design generators. These perspectives are informed by her experiences as a member of the Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Kahu iwi of northern New Zealand.
